428 Cobra Jet Exhaust Comparison

These two dyno charts show a comparison between different exhaust manifolds on a mild 428 Cobra Jet engine. Note that the stock Cobra Jet exhaust manifolds are significantly down on power and torque as compared to any of the steel tube headers. Also, the Hooker Super Competiton headers outpull all the others at the lower engine speed ranges. This characteristic would make these headers the preferred choice where normal street operation is required, except that these headers also hang down lower under the car than some of the others. The FPA headers, on the other hand, fit up nicely against the engine and transmission, making for excellent ground clearance.
